About
Stephanie Carpenter is a graphic designer, letterpress printer, and educator. Her interdisciplinary practice combines historic letterpress traditions with contemporary design thinking. From 2011–2026 she served as Assistant Director and later Program Officer at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum, where she helped steward the world’s largest collection of wood type and led exhibitions, conferences, and educational programs. She has taught letterpress workshops, university courses, and visiting artist programs, fostering community through shared studio practice. Stephanie has presented at conferences and design gatherings throughout the United States.
She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received her BA in Communication Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Saint Francis and her MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University Bloomington.
